I have a few vintage horse hair brushes and I agree with your review.
HH makes a great knot .It was the knot of choice for years.I would like
to be able to buy the knots for restoration work.

I'm working my way through them, as I can find them. Some of them are pretty doggone expensive for some reason. Anyway, I'm working on The Jugger now. Too bad Stark/Westlake died last year.

Not sure the O.P. is aware, but Shaveabuck sells a number of Horse Hair brushes. I don't know of their quality, but it's the only place I have seen selling Horse Hair Brushes:

Yes, and thanks for that information. My son bought one from ShaveABuck a couple of weeks ago. The handle is solid wood, layered in different colors. Looks nice.
