2010 shaving resolutions

The new year is almost upon us....of all the resolutions, do you have any 2010 Shaving Resolutions ????

....hhmmmm....let's hear them....

Once I've ordered a bottle of Dominica Bay Rum & Lime aftershave, a big bottle of Lilac Vegetal and 6 Honeybee soaps this week I will not be buying anything shave-related for 'at least' a year.

To build an interesting and useful collection of shaving paraphenalia that ALL gets regular use.

To shave my own neck area without irritation.

Finish restoring 2 straights and maybe getting a Fatboy in good condition. I normally shave with a Slim or Super adjustable when using a DE, but I'm curious about how the Fattie shaves.

Don't think I'll need more soaps or creams, but might need a new aftershave balm sometime..

Purchases are OK, but they must be offset by a sale or PIF.

Ex: Buying blades when i still have a lot.

I intend to branch out from the safety of my "tried and true" products into more esoteric soaps and lotions..
I've got a hankerin' to try after shave from the Spirit Goat, with goat's milk as an ingredient..

Like others, I want to use up the soaps I have before getting anything new... which will be difficult because my wife bought me 3 years worth not knowing that each puck lasts about that long. I've been wanting to get a puck of tabac for quite sometime, but I really do want to go through at least one of these things before I do that.

Learn to touch up and hone my straights. Guess I'd better get a hone if I plan to do that.

Other than that, there's nothing I've really 'resolved' to do.

Actually, I don't have any. DE is awesome, just about everything I have is from the B/S/T so I don't have a whole lot into it.

I guess I just promise not to get SBAD. Razors don't interest me (I love my Slim, it's perfect), blades don't interest me (I like Red IP's, Derbys, and Dorcos, and have about 30 Personna 74's left). I could use a nice brush, and I could use a really, really great face wash (like Baxters).

So:

1. Good Face Wash
2. One Good $50 Brush.


That's it!

This year I am going to reduce the amount of stuff I have. I really don't need 25 straight razors (a dozen maybe), and I probably don't need a three week rotation of creams/soaps!

I resolve to crush my enemies, to see them driven before me, and to hear the lamentations of their women. That and reduce spending so much on shaving stuff.

use the soaps/creams I have before buying new
use M&L Florida Water Cologne more often cuz it's wonderful
get my son off his bar soap/disposable shaving habit

My only vice for 2010 will be to finalize my scent wardrobe. Everything else is finalized and the excess is already heading out the door via B/S/T sales.
