Well after months of debating and going back and forth between which full sized brush I wanted next and many PM's and questions to B&B's brush expert "edgerunner", I finally decided on a stock Shavemac #25 26mm Silver Tip Badger Shaving Brush from WCS.

I knew going in it would be big, but I had no idea it would be so beautiful, the engraving, the handle heft and shape, the knot. It screams perfection. The knot is approximately 28mm at top of the handle, which I knew it would be, as stock measurements from Shavemac are apparently at the base of the actual knot, so up a bit from where it's set is obviously larger. :001_tt1:

If all goes well, and I'm sure it will, this will not be my last Shavemac.

Here are a few shots, pre, lathered and post with some new PdP that also arrived today.

It's a nice looking luxurious bulbous monster Bruce. Enjoy it. It deserves nice soap like PdP too. Let us know how it feels on the face, size, etc.

That's a beautiful brush sir! Edgerunner, I might have to pm you some questions as well. I am planning on a more expensive brush purchase soon!

did a few "fun swirls" on my face, and is this thing ever soft and covers a lot of area....

Congrats! I have a d01 3 band and I love it. Wouldn't give it up! Shavemac brushes are awesome. Very dense and oh so pillow soft.

Does it swallow your face as big and soft as it is? j/k, it's a gorgeous brush. Wish I had the money to buy a high end brush like that.

it's definitely my biggest badger. here is a shot of my "name brand" badges (i have a couple restores not show), and as you can see it is quite a large knot.

the ovehead shot is next to my 28mm M&F 2XL, which i thought was big, but this is towers over it.

It's a little big for my taste, but that looks beautiful and should last many, many years.

yup, it's a big one. ever since i got my 1st 24mm, i've been going bigger and bigger and am enjoying the variety of sizes. i don't plan on getting a single sized brush across the board, i enjoy having a variety of makes, sizes and lofts to choose from...one reason my brush collection is only 1-2 from each mfg and all varying handles sizes/shapes. i still have to add a few more badgers: a full sized Simpson, Saville Row and Kent, oh yeah, and a Semogue

I love the handle. Fine brush indeed, Bruce. :thumbup1:

yes, the handle shapes is very comfortable. simple, but elegant. i love the double ring and the engraving as opposed to printed on labelling.

Shavemac does make some very solid brushes, I love my 177 23mm Silvertip. Congrats Bruce!
