I'm shocked there's no review of Kouros in here. If they ever create a male frag Hall of Fame, Kouros goes in first round like Ruth and Cobb. Introduced by YSL in 1981, this stuff is still going strong. Think that's cuz it's not a great scent?
This is intense stuff. A legendary scent. It took me a long time to embrace it. Now I love it.
But be clear, it is a very polarizing scent. It's not for the timid. Some people HATE it. HATE is always in all caps with people who don't like it. And there's a lot of people who don't like it.
But if it works for you- it really works. The opening notes are horrific. It's been likened to dropping your pants in public. Kouros is top loaded with civet, which has a strong urine smell. But try it on skin- not on a paper strip. It does mellow into something very sexy. Sort of like an exotic scented soap. Honeyed, pungent and woodsy. This is not a work scent. A little bit of the "dirty" is always there pushing the right buttons of those who find that "dirty" appealing in corners of their mind they dare not discuss.
Sample first! But on skin. That's what lets it do it's magic. I recently tried it on a girlfriend who hates most every scent and she liked it. Blew me away.
