A friend of mine pointed out the Pied Piper story is about a virus. There are several movies of that tale with a particular shout out for the odd, grim Jaques Demy version with Donovan in the title role. There's also Van Johnson in an odd musical that's available free on YouTube.

On the Beach is one of my top 5 movies of all-time. My wife of over 50 years has never been able to watch it. She says it's just too depressing.

Yeah, Fred Astaire doesn't do much dancing in the movie, does he?
