Comfortable shave. I didn't need closeness today so I just went WTG. That and I don't trust Proraso enough with a straight. Finished up with the CP on my chin.

Hey Friends,

i just endet a very fine shave.

-Prep: hot shower
-Soap: Jabonman "Brisa de Oriente"
-Brush: Semogue "Barbear Classico" Texugo
-Razor: Toro Mastiff
-Blade: Personna Platinum Chrome
-Aftershave: Tcheon Fung Sing "Sandalo Boise" Aftershave Balm (Sample)

Great shave. The Jabonman "Brisa de Oriente" has a scent, which brought the shave to a new level. Heavenly. The Toro Mastiff shaves excellent. Very thoroughly and at the same time very gentle. Important is, that you don´t apply any pressure.

When the sample of the Sandalo Boise Aftershave Balm has endet, i will order a full one. What a great Balm. The scent is fantastic. Sandalwood at it´s best, with a touch of "Oriental" notes. WOW!!! Great skin care and a very little goes a long long way.

So, i hope you enjoyed (and will enjoy) your shaves. Have a great time and take care of you.

Greetings
Thorsten

Alfredo, I was using the old tallow English Fern yesterday. (To preserve the molded script, I actually face lather from the bottom of the puck!). However, I've used both new and old EF and BB and have never had a problem whipping up a lather with our mild Florida tap water. Sitting in the closet bin is a puck of Sartorial that will get tried sometime soon, I hope!

Danke, Thorsten!

Thank you Sarimento.

Quite smart rubbing face on the bottom of the puck! (and this suggests me other intriguing options!) :001_wub:
(May I do the same or is there any copyright pending?) :sneaky2:

Probably, ease of whipping up is due to Florida Water (the one from the tap, of course) :biggrin1:.

Here, you open the tap and it pours marble (and this may be the reason why Michelangelo and Leonardo worked here: to save on transport fares!).
But your hint is interesting: sooner or later I will try whipping up the BB adding citric acid to the tap water: it's ready to be used, but, whenever I shave, it's so much of a mess around! I believe I have more cosmetics than Salma Hayek! (Notwithstanding the fewer ones she uses source a far better effect on her than my many ones on myself!) :mad3:

I'll let you know!

Sunday

Prep: Hot Shower-Stirling Scots Pine Bath Soap
Soap: Maggard Fougere Sauvage
Razor: Gillette Slim [8]
Blade: Personna Viking’s Sword (6)
Brush: oscar11 TGN 2-Band Finest-24mmx50mm
Aftershave: Fine American Blend

WTG-XTG-ATG (adjusted angles for my beard)

I used my Maggard Fougere Sauvage today. Awesome lather! I left my Slim set on “8” again for the 6[SUP]th[/SUP] shave with the Personna Viking’s Sword. Previously, I had only done 4 shaves with a VS blade. The Viking’s Sword has no problem “going the distance”! Great smooth, close, nick free shave. I finished up with Fine American Blend.

Alfredo, a little more info. My latest BB soap batch code is 2208 (taped to inner flap of the refill box).
It was shipped to me directly from Mayfair Pen's late in 2013 and lathered great a couple weeks ago.
There are extensive discussion threads on BB soap reformulations in past few years.

(I wonder, is there a database, somewhere, of shave product batch codes for major manufacturers??)
