However, sorry to disappoint about the vintage of the radio, but it's actually a modern reproduction (circa 2009 or thereabouts). Even has FM.

It was our only access to the outside world for more than two weeks when all else (cell, internet, electricity, etc.) went out following Hurricane Sandy two years ago.
