I used something similar to a paddle strop, except I have leather attached to magnetic sheet which is then placed on the metal plate you can see in the pics of my workbench.You know I was just thinking of that the other day. lol
My guess is you just need to lift it to flip it.

There's apparently some code about the feet. If they are crossed it means one thing and if they are on top of an animal it means something else.
