Gents, you never know where you will score. I was walking around the streets of Antwerp a few weeks ago, and spotted a little street market. As I walked through I spotted this little gem. A 1903 pocket edition, double ring shell pattern razor. It even had 4 "Watts Blades" from Sheffield and 4 King Gillette blades. Yet to give it a try, I have used similar razors in the past and had nice shaves.
Great find of a terrific shaver in a beautiful city. Spent a number of enjoyable biz trips in Antwerp but never found a razor just some very nice restaurants (e.g. de matelote), museums and architecture.
Awesome! I love the old stuff, I can't believe some of the newer items fetch so much more $. I'm OK with it, I'll take an Old Type over an SS anyday. The ABC pocket editions are one of my favorites, love the cases and the solid handles. That one looks to be in fantastic condition.
On the back of the case it has a number of patented dates and countries. They range from Dec 30th 02 to Russia April 30th 07. The number is a bit hard to read...... 2102971 is my best guess.
