Gentlemanly Restraint Until Christmas (2013 Edition)

OK I'm in be good trial for the Sabbatical. One exception is I'm looking to get a Merkur Slant, but I'll try trading for it first.

Guess I'm in. I'm already part of the 2013 sabbatical. If I can make it 9 months, the last 3 should be a breeze.
Jp, what exception will you have? Or did you have one in the Sabbatical? And if so, did you already purchase it? etc?

The list is up to date at this point.
Its on the first page. There's some question marks on there if I was unsure of what you mean in your post. I think I've replied to everyone so far that I need clarity from.

I also wanted to mention to be sure you pickup any needed items in these next few days. For example, I will need some Thayer's and some MR Glyce soap to make it through the restraint period and will be purchasing these. Make sure you have enough blades as well if you're a DE shaver. It would be a bummer to fall out for a 10 pack of Feathers.

Why are you laughing?

Good luck y'all.
This is so easy that I used it last year in the run up to 2013.
Oh wait, I crashed and burned in November for a W2 Aristocrat and a Single Ring. Oopsie. :)

Doesn't seem that hard but 3 months is a long time for the likes of us.

IMO, that wasn't a bad fail. IIRC, you got a good deal too.

Can't recall the Aristocrat cost, but the Single Ring was very well priced and came up a treat :)
The GRUC did show me I could stop buying though. Even if it was shortened by RAD, overall it shortened my RAD...

Clarification request for a first time participant:

So this sabbatical thing (aka HOLD ME BACK!!!!) I've agreed to participate in...can I still enter pifs? That's not technically buying anything .

I'm in I suppose. My girlfriend is saying I shouldn't buy any shaving products till after Christmas. I really wanted some Yeti Snot soap so I may buy that at some point in the future but I will try not to.

I'm in. I have 28 blades left to get me through. I'm a newbie, but I am very happy with my current setup, so I'm good to go with no exceptions.

I'm in. My one exception: Nivea Sensitive After Shave Balm (my bottle is close to empty). Other than that, I am good with razors, blades, brushes, soaps, cremes. One clarification question though... since Christmas will fall in this timeframe, do gifts count? My daughters or wife may surprise me with AS or colognes, so I need to guidethem on what is allowed. Thnx!

Hi,

Well, I can easily be in. I have enough stuff now. In fact, the Texas work period is ending, and I will be returning to the farm in North Carolina. This means I will have duplicates of razors to sell off on the B/S/T even. Sort of a reverse sabbatical, as it were.

I bought an extra box of Personna Med Preps and an extra of Labs recently to evaluate a possible change vs. my older ones I had in stock. Wasn't any change, actually, but now I have a lot of blades. I also picked up 17 pucks of vintage Oster tallow based soap and already had a stock of a locally made glycerine soap, so plenty of soap as well. Brushes, I will have two extras of that I don't even use.

I am good!:thumbup1:

Stan

Edit: No exception required. I was angling for an Ikon Slant (pun intended), but the price initially put me off, and some of the blade alignment issues reported put me off even more.

Toothpick

Needs milk and a bidet!
soooo I'm guessing saying my one item is "blades" would be to vague?

It would be almost impossible to pass up blades if I see them at a great price!
