Brush Cleaning

Has anyone ever used Art of Shavings pre-shave oil? I tried it today and it left my brush gummed up and really tacky. I see that it contains olive oil...probably the culprit.

Any suggestions as to how to remove it from the brush?

Get some brush cleaner from classic shaving for example it should do the trick.

Or just soak the brush in a borax/warm water solution for 30min to an hour.

Yep, borax and a warm water soak, a little conditioner and BOOM a really nice clean brush. I do it with all my 4 of my natural bristle brushes.
Heck, I may even try some of that good ol' 20 mule team cleaner on my clothes some day.....

I use MAC (cosmetics) brush cleaner - fast and very effective!

I use the Estée Lauder version of the same.

I just use regular shampoo, I put a little bit in a cup with warm water let the brush soak in it for about 30 minutes rinse and repeat if necessary. After all the brush is hair -Badger hair

I do the vinegar soak and the Borax routine that the Em's Place video demonstrated. Generally, I clean a brush every three months or so. Works well.
