Ingredients
- 1 pound of Italian sausage. 1/2 hot sausage, 1/2 mild sausage
- 2 large bell peppers. one green and one red
- 1 cup chopped onion
- 2 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 1 teaspoon marjoram
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/8 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese (grated)
- 1/4 cup romano cheese (grated)
- 1/4 cup asiago cheese (grated)
- 8 oz. box of penne pasta,cooked
Method
- In a large skillet, cook sausage, peppers,onion and garlic until meat is brown and vegetables are tender.
- Drain off fat. Stir in cream, parsley, marjoram, salt and pepper.
- Bring to a boil then reduce heat and cook and stir over medium heat for eight minutes until slightly thickened.
- Pour over cooked pasta. Toss mixture with cheese.
- Serve at once with more cheese if needed.
During the cooking process, I sometimes add more sausage,cream and cheese. To each is his own.
