Please note that the passes are mentioned as an example and you might have a different direction for WTG, XTG and ATG.
The positioning of the fingers can vary slightly from one user to another. Some will keep the pinky under the tang, on the tang, or in the air.

WTG | Shaving WTG (With The Grain). This grip is used for passes WTG (North-South) | |
XTG | Shaving XTG (Across the Grain). This grip is used for passes XTG (Ear to Mouth) | |
ATG | Shaving ATG (Against The Grain). This grip is used for passes ATG (South-North) | |
XTG/Touch-ups | Shaving XTG/Touch-ups (Agrainst The Grain and Touch-ups). This grip is used for passes XTG (Ear to Mouth) and to touch-up missed areas. |
