Actually, many of the whisky experts will actually warm the glass in their hands to bring out the aromas and flavours. Try it with a good whisky in a copita type glass and see if it doesn't make things jump out at you. (Jim Murray actually has a hot water bath for warming his glasses when rating whiskies. I got that straight from the Troll's mouth a couple of weeks ago.)
That notwithstanding, I once saw some 'cooling stones' made of granite shaped like little curling rocks. Rather appropriate for Scotch, not to mention Canadian whiskies. Hurry Hard!
