Your Birth-Year Razor

From reading through many of the threads in the many sub-forum's of this site I have noticed that many collectors have a razor in their collection which was produced in their birth year. Many of these collectors, whilst not old, are certainly not as young as myself and are able to pick up a nice Gillette SS or Fatboy from their year of birth.
I would like to buy a razor from my own year of birth however I was born in 1993 and to the extent of my knowledge there are no desirable razor from this year, and Gillette had long moved on to disposable cartridge razors by that point.
My question here is, Are there any good collectible razors from that year or around that time that some of us younger B&Ber's can add to our collections?

The Schick Krona and type N injector were still being produced and sold at that time period. As someone who wet shaved then, those would have been what I would have bought then. They were often sold at special prices ($1.99) or added as a bonus with a large blade purchase (free with 15 blades).

this would be about your best choice for a decent razor made in that time period but there is no way to know exactly what year any were made as Schick did not date code their production

The Gillette G1000 was produced well into the '90s. I bought my son a birth year razor (1991) off eBay last year. Search for "Gillette G1000." They show up every once in a while.

Just keep a Mach 3 or something under glass and use the older Gillettes.

I'll probably pick up one of these. The fact that there's no date code will make it easier to pick one up. I can just pretend it was made in '93

I'll have to look out for one of those too, will take some patience though.

Thanks for all the replies lads. Friendly as ever:thumbup:

1993?! My son is 2 years younger than you and he does not shave at all. I'm gonna buy him a Gillette Super Speed and Simpsons Commodore when he turns 21. I assume he'll be shaving by then!:thumbup1:
