You have to choose between cheese or meat

First off, I hope I never have to make this choice but what if?

Meat and cheese are high on my list of foods that I enjoy. I was talking to a friend of mine that likes cheese about as much as I do. We got to talking, and both of us decided that if we were forced to give one or the other up, we would give up meat in favor of cheese.

What say you?

For me, I can substitute meat with a lot of other things ( mushrooms, Tofu (yes I like tofu) etc ). I can't substitute anything for cheese.

That's what my daughter would say when she was a wee tike and her stomach would start barking at her. I would have to agree. A main factor would be that meat has more nutritional value. Your tofu or veggiemash is not going to give you the same nutritional benefit as meats. Of course you can substitute to your heart's desire for taste, consistency, etc - YMMV.
Plus while I thoroughly enjoy a select few cheeses, I am in no way a cheese-ophile and could care less for 90%+ of the cheeses available in the now enormous cheese/artisan cheese section at the reputable neighborhood grocer.
 
I could do without cheese, but to live without meat would be unbearable.

Mushrooms and tofu may be used to fill the space that would have normally been occupied by meat, but they aren't a substitute for meat.

No. If you want my cheese or meat you will have to rip it/them from my cold dead hands! I think the right to have cheese and meat is in the Canadian constitution! What malarky. Balderdash . . . you can keep such choices in the USA. :lol:

Well I feel like this isn't a fair choice because I rarely eat cheese so it would be no issue at all for me to loose it over meat.

In fact, just thinking about it now, if there was breaking news on the TV that said cheese of any kind will no longer be made I'd probably just shrug my shoulders and look for a channel without breaking news on it.

I love cheese, I eat cheese with cheese! However, I can't do it without meat. I already do 2 vegetarian meals a week and 1 fish.

The "pursuit of Happiness" clearly refers to meat and cheese.

I would have to agree with her too.
I have done without meat for extended periods a couple of times, this last stint I decided I was never doing that again! Vegetarianism is totally off the table for me.

I would miss cheese though.
 
I love cheese but I am allergic...So meat for sure. Even if I could eat cheese I would still go with meat. A carnivore all the way.
 
Don't even have to think about that one, keep the meat, toss the cheese.

I eat almost no dairy, so it wasn't really a decision.
 
I will keep meat.Eyes in front of the head for depth perception to grasp prey? Check.Four pointy teeth to bite prey? Check.Insatiable appetite for sushi,chicken,steak,pork,shrimp,chicken,duck? Check. Yup,keep your cheese.I don't even like them thar disgusting cow squeezings gone bad.Don't get that nasty stuff near my plate full of meat.
 
Meat. Being from Wisconsin you might have thought different. I love both, but I can't do without meat.

Now I'm going to have some roast beef and aged cheddar to remove this horrible thought from my mind.
