What's new

You guys are a really supportive and understanding bunch - Thank you!

Hi Guys,

As some of you may know, I collect, restore and use razors (safety and straight) and some of you send razors for restoration too. It's only a hobby but I try to turn things around as quick as possible.

Four weeks ago, my older brother took ill and was taken in to hospital. Unfortunately he died a week later.

So, obviously the razor restoration work took a bit of a back seat for three weeks or so.

I informed most of the guys that had sent me razors, as to the delay and I must say, that the support has been overwhelming.

Everyone sent good wishes and comments such as 'forget my razor, how is your brother?' (whilst he was in hospital) and condolences since.

I find that keeping busy is the best way to deal with loss like this, so working on razors helps, so restorations will progress though.

Thanks to all for the support, it's appreciated.

Best wishes

Dave

O-man,

condolences to you and your family... definitley keep busy... if you find yourself with not enough customers to keep busy, let me know... i have a bunch of gear that could use restoration.

When a tragedy strikes close at home the best way to move forward is to immerse yourself in your work.

Please accept my most sincere condolences for your loss.

Dave, sorry for your brother's loss. +1 to what turtle said. Nothing can replace the void left by your brother, but keep your mind busy and let time do its work.

Sorry to here this Dave.
I've got a bit of a workshop, Mini lathe lathe and mill, and time on my hands (Unemployed at mo).
So if you've any jobs you need help with to 'catch up' let me know. FOC of course.

This community here at Badger and Blade is like an extension of our own families, and when one is hurting we all hurt.

Thanks for sharing this with us, Dave. I am sorry for your loss and will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

Hi Steve,

Sorry to hear that you are out of work at the moment.

Drop me a PM and I'll pass your details to people that may be able to use your services - and don't be afraid to charge for your work and time either. Skilled craftsmen (and women) are difficult to find these days. It's so long since we actually made proper stuff in the UK (this from me running a software company)

If I can use some turning/milling etc, I'd expect to pay :)
