I tried to use no fewer than a dozen bath soaps for shaving in the past. The results were dismal at best, but maybe you can find the diamond in the rough, and forever brag about your find to the board.

I believe these are bath soaps, not shaving soaps.
You can find those at most Dollar stores I think. I haven't tried them yet but they seem nice. Let us know how it works. You can also get Palmolive soaps which also have the first two ingredients tallow. Never tried it as a shave soap, but if any bath soap would work, my guess would be this one would.
Melting tallow soap isn't recommended. Shaving with bath soap generally isn't recommended either.
I really like the Yardley Cucumber for the shower!
Plenty of bath soaps have tallow, but it doesn't mean they automatically lather up well enough for shaving. Heck, I think ivory might even have tallow in it. If nothing else, yardley bars are great in the shower.

I've seen these at Big Lots ... about 79 cents.
Wonder if they could be mixed with KMF unscented after milling if they don't lather well on their own.

My wife has been bugging me to get her a shave stick for the shower, and I made her one with some modern Williams and a big Elmer's glue stick. I did this to avoid giving her one of my "good" shaving sticks.
When I asked her how she liked the stick, she replied that it didn't work as well for her as the Yardley lavender I'd gotten for her at big lots.
Of course, she's not lathering with it...she uses the soap as a base and then adds canned lather on top of it....

No, you take the glue out of the container and wash it thoroughly. You just want the twist bottom tube.

the only bath soap that I have used for for shaving was Irish Spring but I was camping at the time and I wood not recommend it.
