For a collector, the Bottom Dial 195 is a much sought after piece.

I wouldn't pay that, but there are certainly people with more money than sense out there.

You don't see these everyday. He might just have it listed like that to see what kind of offers he is getting to determine the real value with no intention of selling it but just for a price point reference

A fossilized Raptor turd is extremely rare also. It would probably shave better than any Fat Boy variant though.:lol: Over rated pieces of junk. imho. I don't care where the dial is,or if it has a spot or a Toggle.:thumbdown That's why I gave mine away.:001_smile

OK then.... to each his own.

My recollection is, there was at least one instance that in open auction one of these went for 900-some dollars. Then we began to see these "crazy" BIN auctions coming up. (actually, at some point the same was offered for $1,499). There have been several sales in which these bottom dialers were sold between 500-700, when they were well-presented. A couple of other auctions, where the razors were poorly presented, ended with ~$300. Of course, some ofthese turned up to be a dissapointment.
There have been, to my knowledge, direct trades "under the radar", where these puppies went for 600- 800.

What would be an average price for one of those?

There aren't enough of these razors to get an average for. This is the only one I've seen for sale in the last 6 months or so. So on a sample of one this is the average selling price.

I wonder how many threads this razor has generated here over the months (at least half a dozen, I'll bet more ).

Think about this. Let's say you had a worth of $10 million. And for some reason were still into collecting razors (as opposed to say, costly rare art). Would you still think "more money than sense", or would you think "enough money to pay a high price for a rare item like this"? :tongue_sm

I was going to answer exactly as Len did. -v-

Where Fatboy variants ever made in the UK? Just so i know not to look out for them. Not that I've ever come across any American razors in charity shops, which is where I generally look. But you never know, some GI may have left one behind when he had to leave in a hurry.:001_rolle

All Adjustables are made in USA

He's not an idiot. He's a member here, I believe, and I think he likes to see the rise it gets from the noobies here that don't know anything about what he's selling.

I don't think he was calling the Seller an idiot. I think he was implying that an idiot might just come along and buy the razor at that price (as in "it only takes one"). But I disagree the guy would be an idiot.

Although the case may be made if he didn't at least try the "make offer" button, but as I've learned, the Seller can set a threshold to auto reject offers below a certain number, and after three offers on one item, I was surprised to learn I could no longer make another offer on the item. I've taken to submitting my first offer, then if auto rejected, I message the Seller and ask if they'll reveal the amount they've set to NOT auto reject (this is likely the lowest amount they will accept, though they still could ignore or manually reject the offer, or make a counteroffer).

I'd be curious what would happen if someone did offer $600 or $700 in this case. Just not curious enough to make the offer myself.
