What's new

Wow, Mike's Lemongrass soap is awesome

I order a sample of it, and I liked it, so I ordered a full bar, but it was not until this morning that I tried. It is a tad strong smell when you start, but it mellows out - it was awesome!

I just finished my morning shave with a sample of Mike's lemongrass and found it to be divine.

Smells like Lemonhead candy or lemon drops to me and I love lemon scents.

Next payday I'll be ordering a full tin. I added just a tad of KMF unscented and a drop or three of glycerine and the shave was immaculate. Followed it up with a splash of Thayer's lemon and then Family Dollar spice AS. The praise for Mike's soaps is well earned and he has hooked yet another customer.

The other samples I received were Barbershop, Orange and cedarwood, and coconut. I guess I will always be partial to lemon scents as I found it to be my favorite by a long shot.

Regards.

He was out of stock when i ordered my last purchase, i can't wait to order it, especially if it smells like lemonheads!!! i can't compare since i've never smelled the lemon, but has anybody tried the lime? how does lemon compare to lime? better yet, how do they smell when mixed together?

I have a refund coming from something else that couldn't ship. Once it comes in, I'll order a tin of this stuff. For $10.50 to get into a soap that's considered one of the flat out best, I might as well. :)

now that i'm thinking about the lemon and lime combo, i may have to throw some orange/cw/bp in there too, whatever the resulting smell is, i'm calling the scent skittles.

I was in the bathroom just now lathering up a bowl from the Barber Shop sample. A dot of KMF unscented...a dot or three of glycerin.

Wife walked by......turned back around.......inhaled deeply. Seems that the Barber Shop scent made her do a U turn.

Guess what tomorrow's shave is going to be, lather wise? :thumbup1:

Might be ordering two tins Friday if things go well.....if you know what I mean.

Regards.

That's a good situation to be in! I was using Mike's coconut the other day and my wife walked by and started reminiscing about sun block and the beach. Something tells me that if I keep this up I'm going to be on the hook for a vacation...making that the most expensive sample of soap ever :w00t:!

Made my order for Mikes Lemongrass. Refund from an order that couldn't be filled for something else came back and covered it. I'm excited! This will be my second GOOD shaving soap and my FIRST tallow based shaving soap. I was reading the old "Best Soap You've Tried" thread and Mikes came up a ton as a real standout. I hope it comes quick!

Even though I had a tough go at it with Mike's in the very beginning it's a soap that I've come to appreciate the more I use it. An excellent soap. Funny I find it similar to PTSG that I've been using all week. Gobs of lather, good cushion, great glide and a non offensive scent. Liking it!

+1...I had trouble with the soap at first too. Now I love it. For the price, it's just about unbeatable.

My favorite scent of his as well. Considering the price per tin and how ling they last, they really are an incredible deal for an incredible product. And Mike is just a swell guy so it is a win-win.
