Wombats

I am in love with Wombats!

I desperately want to travel to Australia to find a Wombat petting zoo. If you have a love for Wombats too and know of ideal Wombat blogs, sites, and places for Wombat t-shirts and accessories, please let me know.

And if you have any Wombat photos you want to post, please share.

So funny that you posted this. I thought I was the only one. I really like the Hairy Nosed Wombat. They are almost like puppy dogs the way they follow the trainers and zoo keepers around. I think they are becoming endangered species if I remember correctly. I remember seeing this a few months back......

Check out this too... I had it saved as one of my favorites:

I'll post you one if you can send me some Pinaud Clubman. We can't get that here.

That is great. Just like I said.....they are like puppy's

Actually more like hairy pigs. But dumber. :001_tongu

I've always kind of wanted one of those giant South American guinea pig things. And apparently they can be quite tasty, which is a handy attribute for a pet in these hard economic times.

Fully grown wombat can be like 90lbs. I think you can pet them at the Healesville Sanctuary (just outside of Melbourne).

You can also pet other native animals there too (kangaroos, koalas, baby dingoes).

Koalas are far more interesting. They sleep 22 hours a day and smell like Proraso shaving cream (old formula).

The only Wombat I know anything about is this one:

Koalas smell like Proraso? Are you kidding me?

If you have young children or young relatives, this book has gone over well with my 2 year old niece and the children my wife looks after. I recall the main character is a wombat.

Yeah, they eat nuthin' but eucalyptus leaves all day. They are literally drenched in eucalyptus oil. The leaves are very hard to digest so they tend to sleep a lot from the effort. And when they're not sleeping or eating, they're doing the horizontal tango. What a life.
