What's new

wifely suspicions?

Not an issue here,

but for those who converted/reverted to DE/SE shaving from all those lessor methods of whisker whacking whilst married or cohabitating, did the SO/CO/Boss give you any grief over the new face (primp) time and your pursuit of a better shave? seems that the insecure types might think that something _else_ was going on.

or where they just happy to have a smoother man?

I went from once per week shaving to 5-7x, and i'm not even dating.

so many razors/blades/soaps/brushes to try!

I'm single but I always get teased by family members who think I'm weird now. My dad even said I've started using weird products.

I've no worries about that angle, but the "I'm doing it to save money" part has officially been blown out of the water by her at this point as I keep looking at more and more things to buy and try. lol

My wife has been behind me 100% since the time she felt my 1st DE shave. It's one hobby that she gets to benefit from by having a smooth, good smelling husband.

Mine just think's I'm crazy for spending so much on this hobby. I'm too fat and ugly for suspicions most likely. Anyhow, I've talked her into trying my DE with some lather I whipped up for her twice now. Maybe she'll want her own soon.

The wife thinks I'm insane for using a straightrazor. I dont really care though.

I have only been using it for about a month now and CAN'T STAND using a cartridge razor on my face anymore. (Still using one for my head.) I used the cartridge one on my face ONCE this week and the entire day I kept feeling how my face wasnt as smooth. Plus, I have a horrible in-grown hair on my neck from it now.

SWMBO like the results, but somehow frowns and *harumphs* quite a bit when a package comes in the mail.

My wife is happy that I'm happy with my new lifestyle but keeps telling me to stop spending so much time on the computer reading this forum.

this is how my ex would have been, probably bringing home "finds" for me to try. we got along great, before she decided to change addresses.

but i know many "pairs" who live "parallel lives" and just wondered.

yous guys (in my fake yankee* accent) gotta _sell_ one or two now and then, make a big deal about it -maybe throwing her a bit of the "profit"...and maybe ship to the office? Or just buy her something every time you get something...don'tchallknownuthin?

*yankee meaning is different in the US than the ROW-where it refers to the whole lot of us. "ROW" is rest of world for my Hillbilly Kouzins.

Because they don't know what there missing, they've been brainwashed by the industry to think that cartridge razors are superior. DE razors are for gentlemen and people who care about treating there face right (we only get one!). Cartridge razors are for masochists and uninformed shavers. What's so weird about shaving the way our ancestors did? I'll still whip out my Schick Hydro 5 if I'm really SHORT on time and need a quick shave though. But really I think modern shaving is so boring, using the same 3-5 blade razor blade and dragging it across your face every morning using the same boring old gel shaving can...

My better half thinks that all of the things I have accumulated since starting to DE shave is a bit much, but I find myself mixing her some TOBS Rose to a rich lather and putting a fresh Feather in my 23C for her which she really seems to like, so it's ok.

My wife is all for it, she just wishes I'd stop buying stuff. She limited my straights to a 1 purchase, thankfully I was able to trade for a 2nd here on BST! But she does love that I'm cleanly shaven more than once a week.

Nightly grief, every time I get mail grief, whenever she goes near the bathroom grief, so yes, she gives me some flack. It's not a suspicion thing, though, just busting my chops.

But she appreciates the daily chore that's turned into something I look forward to, and that it may be good for me.

I shaved 1 or two times a week with an electric for all my life until I started DE shaving, (I just couldn't shave without ingrowns/irritation) now I shave daily and do get grief for how much time I spend shaving by SWMBO

I live in Brazil, so any time that arrives a package and I open and its shaving products my family in law says: cant you just shave with the 2 dollar razor like everybody else!??!?! this guy must be having some problems....

My wife thinks it's weird that I spend time on a shaving related forum and am so interested in shaving stuff. No suspicions I don't think. Mainly I think she has a problem with the $ aspect. I have to keep close watch on the postal deliveries; I have to be the first to get to the doorstep. :001_smile

For some reason it was fragrances that really made her think I was weird. She jokingly gives me sh*t about going out in the evening with cologne on and feigns suspicion. It's funny. I don't take it very seriously.

Hates that my morning routine takes longer and keeps her from the (shared) bathroom.

Loves seeing me shaved, suited & groomed for work.

Begrudgingly accepts but not endorses.
