why do I have so many soaps?

I do not have that many soaps, just 5 quality pucks and I use them in rotation. This AM took my Rooney to my Tabac. Lather for days and of the highest quality, beautiful scent, makes for a heavenly shave. The question I have is why do I have any other soaps, everything is second rate compared to Tabac.

Heh I only have 2 tubs of SC and 2 bowls of soap and some soap samples. I'm going to keep it that way to. (then again Christmas is around the corner)

Here I thought that I clicked on one of the standard "my AD is out of control" threads but instead it was the standard "Why have anything else than Tabac?" threads.

Because variety is the spice of life! That and despite how well Tabac works for you, it's not like the other 4 give you bad shaves !

Just hold on to them. As time passes you'll find yourself using different soaps at different times. I don't really know how many I have, and every so often I'll just start using another one. Darned if I can figure out why. :001_rolle

I currently have about 10 soaps, (Tabac included, of course,) and the only thing I'm complaining about is that I don't have enough brands on hand.

And don't even get me started on creams ... that must be closer to 20 ... since they are generally cheaper than soaps and much more easy to find at Brick&Mortar retailers.

Still, Tabac is great soap, but I couldn't imagine going the rest of my life relying on just one brand.

Everytime I shave with TABAC I feel exactly the same way....but also after a MWF shave I do...(not to mention the Old Formulation New Old Stock Geo. F. Trumper Rose Soap I just acquired) I have tried one soap for MONTHS everyday but I still keep coming back to these top three that I so dearly love. I...... MAY..... try an experiment with starting January 1st 2010 with the Rose and seeing just how long I can go with it.....more than likely I will sustain a lengthy use period and then one morning wake up and use TABAC or MWF and blow my whole experiment.:blushing:

Of course everyone could just read the forums and buy one quality soap and be satisfied with that. But isn't it al about trying to get the best possible shave? For me it is. Trying to find the best prep, the best razor and blade combination, etc. Then you need to experiment and might end up with a lot of stuff. Some of it has proven to be inferior and I agree that I wonder what to do with some of it. Like for example the many blades that have proven to be not sharp enough.
