What's new

which supermax are the best

Super-Max Platinum are considered the best of the bunch, although Super-Max SUPER Platinum have made an recent appearance. Presumably, they would be an improvement on the Super-Max Platinum blades.

Wil Dorenbos rated the Supermax Sunrise as a 10, his highest raing, in his Feather Measure of all Blades thread. See post #50.

Travis, if you would like to try some PM me and I will send you a pack.

I recall someone did a comparison on SMF (Shave My Face) between the Sunrise and Platinums and he thought the platinums were a little sharper and smoother. However, like all things, YMMV. BTW, very generous of you to send Travis a trial package.

Gotta say, used the Titaniums last night for the first time. DFS most definitely and borderline BBS with just one spot on the neck I was scared to get. Amazing deal for the price and just worked great in the Super Speed. Next up is the Fatboy!

I have tried the Stainless and the Super Platinums and prefer the Super Plats.

I liked them so much I went out and bought 300.

I've tried the Sunrise and the Super Platinum. The Sunrise was superior when fresh, but fell off pretty quickly for me, and by shave #4 I was wishing I had stopped at 3. It's also more costly than the Super Platinum, which gives an excellent shave and lasts all week for me.

I have tried the Super-Max Stainless (blue/orange package) and the Super Stainless (green/yellow package).

I'd rank the Stainless as better than adequate, for me they're somewhere between Derby and the Astra SP.

The Super Stainless are excellent, equivalent to Israeli/Red Personnas.

Both of the Super-Max versions I've tried are very economical - on eBay I recently bought 200 Stainless for $11.60 US shipped, and 700 Super Stainless for $53 US shipped.

Does anyone have any information on the recent changes Vidyut made to its Supermax lineup? I ask this because new packs available on the 'bay are marked "New and Improved." I have the older version which I find to be quite rough and am very disappointed by this, especially considering their cost.
What could they have changed? and has anyone compared old blades to new to vouch that they are improved?
Thanks for any input.

I bought a 200-pack of stainless NEW AND IMPROVED, blue and orange package.

I got a decent shave from them but did not tried the "old" version to tell you if there is a real improvement.

By far the cheapest blade I found until now (US$ 10 for a 200 pack shipped to Brazil from eBay) and still a good shave.

I like all super max I tried until now. Sunrise, stainless, super platinum, platinum, and diamond. Sunrise and Diamond appear to be smoother and with a little more longevity.

I liked the SuperMax Super-Stainless (green/yellow) so much that I bought 800 of them. It was a close out from an eBay'er and my total cost was $38 including shipping.

I really like the Super Platinum, and I thought the regular platinums also were quite good for a couple of shaves. All these blades get pretty good reviews. The SunRise gave good shaves as well.

The only SuperMax blades that I've seen panned a number of times were the regular stainless (blue wrapper) that are super cheap, largely available in the UK.

My go-to blade. Very underrated
