Which semogue is most like the 1305?

About a year ago I purchased a Semogue 1305 and it quickly became the only brush that I use. I'm looking to try another Semogue primarily for variety sake, but I can't think of anything that I would change in terms of the feel/performance of the 1305, good backbone and soft tips. So for those who own several Semogues, which one feels and performs most like the 1305? If I'm not mistaken, the 830 has the same bristles?? Thanks in advance for the help.

I believe that the 830 is the same as the 1305, except it has 10% more bristles, i.e., slightly greater density.

A retailer posted a very informative chart of the different Semogue boars on another forum. I believe that you might find it quite helpful in your quest for another Semogue.

thanks for the link branford. very good read. i've gone thru several semogue brushes and just started to break the special edition soc 2012 with mixed boar/badger. I was using the Italien Barber limited edition which is supposed to be like the 1305 but with the different color sceme. liked it a lot but really have been enjoying the se soc 2012

I have had a SOC, 1305, 830 and 620. The 1305 was nice for a while but as time went on it became too floppy. The SOC was nice but I recently gave it away. The 620 is a very nice brush and it remains in my rotation. Now the 830 is by far my favorite boar brush. Better backbone than the 1305 and feels better on my face than the SOC. Obviously this is all ymmv but the more opinions you can gather the easier it is to make an informed decision.

Is there a consensus about whether the 10% extra density of the 830 vs the 1305 gives it more or less backbone?

Obvious next step is an SOC. My all-time favorite boar (and I have a 1305 too). It's just a natural progression :001_rolle

with vintage scent having a sale the SOC will be on order. i also have the 620, 830 and Italian Barber limited edition. I prefer the IB LE
