Which Semogue Is Close to Burma Shave Brush?

So I saw an older thread on this and the consensus seems to be 1305 but am wondering if there are any new opinions.

I have a Burma Shave brush I bought in the late 1990s but it is getting a bit worn out and I want to try a Semogue. I like the loft, softness, and backbone on the Burma Shave brush though and find that it lathers good on face or in bowl. I think this is related to backbone as well but it is not very floppy which I like. So I am just wondering what would be a Semogue with comparable characteristics.

Burma Shave is a low end brush. Pretty much any Semogue will be significantly better. Best thing is to measure the base of your knot and the height of the loft, then compare to a site with measurements of the Semogue.

Semogue SOC is one of the most loved boar brushes, but any of similar size as your old one should do a LOT better.

I actually have an never used Burma Shave brush in box to go with the Burma Shave mug just for collecting. The brush is very low end from what I hear. If you are looking for a better quality brush but one that resembles the Burma Shave in knot height, loft, thickness, and size of handle, I would suggest to you the Omega #10029 'Baby Pro' boar brush. I have one and it is a great little brush for the things you described that you're looking for. Loft, softness of tips and backbone.
