What's new

which RAZOROCK to choose if you like TOBS rose sandalwood and lavender?

I wanted to try a Razorock shaving soap(as i have not yet done so) and wanted to know which one to choose as i really like the TOBS scents like the rose, the lavander and the sandalwood.
Don't get me wrong i also use the Trumper rose and all the Proraso line(even though the new sandalwood proraso scent is not like the Tobs or Trumper)
I was thinking of the Napoleon violet?
Maybe the Fresco,xxx, or original?
Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thank you and have a great shave.

I'm not really a huge fan of the RR Sandalwood scents, not very strong, more of a soapy smell to me. The Third Eye and Nonno Michelino are their two sandalwood products. The artisan line in Third Eye is great, but I'd have to give it to the Nonno Michelino, it is amazingly slick.

IMO, the sandalwoods from them just don't do it, BUT you will not go wrong with the Chiani Lavender or the King Louis. The King Louis is amazing. I have never smelled Napoleon Violet so I can't compare.

As far as the other questions go,
Can't comment on the classic.
XXX is a light citrus smell, doesn't agree with a lot of peoples face but is very nice if agrees with yours.
Fresco is like shaving with 7up mixed in a soap, yes for real.
Cacao is also a nice soap smells like Cella, but I like Cella for the tallow better.

TOBS Sandalwood cream, ASB and Cologne are just about my favorite. However I like variety and like all 4 of the new RR products and XXX. It does not match up with sandalwood, but I like the XXX a lot with the Michelino (sandalwood like) very good. I have only the King Louis ASB and find it has a fantastic scent.

TOBS and NM are very different takes on Sandalwood but both very good in their own right and I think he's looking for something he will like, not an exact match.

Though if you want a stronger sandalwood scent might try RazoRock's Third Eye over the Michelino..the new line tends to have very subdued scents compared to the artisan line.

O k guys i just placed my order at Bullgoose for: razorock xxx,the classic and the napoleon violet to try.
Since i have the rose and sandalwoods i decided on trying something new.
Great prices at Bullgoose and shipping to Canada.
I'll let you know what i think of them when i try them and thank you for your advice.
Have a great shave.

Well guys i received a few razorock soaps from Bullgoose and shipping time and prices to Canada were amazing.
I really enjoy using creams like TOBS and Trumoer that really lather well, smell amazing and are easy to do so with a nice silvertip brush.
Now i used my soft silvertip brush on these soft soaps and thought it might be a workout as for me soaps always require more effort to build.
But boy was i wrong with the razorock XXX and the Artisan third eye.
I think i started with about 15 swirls and the container exploded with lather.
I then took that and went straight to my bowl and BAM.
Great thick lather in no time.
For me it was as simple as using creams such as the Tobs,Proraso and so on.
I have to admit that to my senses the smell of the XXX is awesome.
I think i can shave with this all the time.
The Third eye Artisan soap was equally amazing as i think i lucked out in these smells as i ordered them based on your reviews and you were wright.
The price plays a big role also as they are not that expensive.
I also tried the razorock classic.
Equally amazing in lather, the only thing is i am not to keen on almond smelling creams.
That is just me as i prefer flowery smells and aromas.
Have a great shave.

Afraid to say ( or rather write ) , that I have not tried the TOBS sandalwood . If you like , we could do a swap ( trade) : AoS sample for your TOBS sample !! Yes or no to the idea .

I regret not ordering the Chianti Lavender as that one is on my next list from Bullgoose.
Do you know anything about the Napoleon Violet?
