Which Atoma plate to get?

I am leaning to the 1200 as it can also be used to quickly set a bevel if need be...

oops just saw on the thread "which lapping stone to get" many singing praises of the 400/600

If you are doing a lot of lapping on different stones, get the #400. It will eventually turn into a mellow #600+. If you are only lapping every once in a while I would go for the #600. You can follow that with a nagura of some sort to refine and polish the stones surface if you want but I do not mind the "bite" left from the #600 when honing a razor. Also I recommend getting the 21cm x 7.5cm (8 1/4 x 3in) size as it is more practicle. Alx
