where to start.

I will be experiencing my 1st wet shave this weekend. The blade sample pack I ordered contains the following blades. (Merkur Super Platinum) (Feather New Hi-Stainless Platinum) (Crystal or Israeli) (Derby Extra) (Astra). I have know idea which to start with. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

IMO I wouldnt touch the Merkur's..

Derby
Astra
Crystals
Feathers...

Being your first shave make sure you revisit all the blades at a later time. As time goes on your technique will get better and you'll be able to judge better what blade is suited to you.

I'd suggest going with the Derbys or Astras first. Let us know how that 1st DE shave goes for you!

+1. Derby or Astra. They are both relatively "mild" blades. Avoid the Feathers and Merkurs right out of the gate.
