Where to find Nickel Silver rod in Calgary?

Anyone around this area know where I can find any. So far my search has turned up nothing. Found brass rod but that's it. I put a thread in WTB as well if anyone has some they would like to sell. Thanks for any help.

I don't know about Calgary but my parents just brought me a few different rods (not sure exactly what kind they are) but some are silver colour and others are brass, from Hobby World in Saskatoon.

I just did a quick search for hobby shops in Calgary, any one of them might have it. (unless you've already checked them out)

Unfortunately I've checked most of the big ones and none of them have nickel silver rod.

My experience has been the same. Some have brass, but no NiAg rods. You will also find aluminum (too soft) and stainless (too hard).

I'm having the same issue here in BC. I can't find anything closer than Texas for some damn nickel rods. They are sold out to boot....

Yeah, they got me brass, aluminum, and copper. Some of them are tubes instead of rods, could you still make a neat pin out of that? Get it mushroomed out so there is like a hole down the middle, or put a thin something down the middle?

So is really just the brass useful then? Is aluminum too soft for pins? I think the copper is just a tube, not a rod, but would it be ok for pins if it's a rod?

I don't think you could make a sensible pin out of tubing, but it is very useful for creating a 3rd pin / spacer. See pics here: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=167316

I'm not sure about not using tubing, it would of course not be traditional, but then neither are microfasteners. You would be flaring the ends of the tubing, not peening of course. I think the difficulty would be in getting the correct length of tubing for the razor. Too long and you risk splitting the tubing.
