I wanted to know where you men purchase your aftershaves? I usually go to Shavenation or West Coast Shaving. I want to expand my aftershave collection, so I just want some information from the Pros.
My go-to for barbershop scents is appletonbarbersupply.com. I was fortunate to be in Appleton on our Great Lakes vacation last year and went by there. They were super-nice, even though they normally do mail order and local delivery type of business. They let me look around as long as I wanted and smell whatever AS I wanted. I got a couple of bottles of Osage Rub and some assorted Jeris, Masters and Stephen products, as well as a neck duster brush for my wife to use after she cuts my hair. Highly recommended vendor, if they have what you are looking for.
I try to keep it local but where I cannot, I try to see if I can make a deal with a B&B member that has it locally for cheap (i.e. Japanese Aftershaves).
I too have purchased from Appleton. My "Ten Days of New Aftershaves" thread is reviews of the stuff I got from them. I have also used drugstore.com. However, with Ebarbershop being so kind as to provide free samples to the B&B members, I believe I will use them next time around.
Thrift and antique stores for stuff like vintage Old Spice and Avon aftershaves in the numerous decanters they pushed. Family dollar for their version of Old Spice. Dollar General for Barbasol Brisk and Pacific Rush (similar, not the same, as Skin Bracer and Aqua Velva). I found a gift set of vintage British Sterling, circa early '70's, AS and EdC on Etsy for cheap. Sally's Beauty Supply for Pinaud Clubman and Masters Bay Rum. My barber has Suavacito items including the Bay Rum which is the same as Layrite No. 9. Ogallala Bay Rum's website for their stuff. United supermarket or Wally world for Aqua Velva. Wally world has Stetson AS in the glass bottle. I may have to get it just for the glass bottle. Everything seems to be going to plastic these days.
