Springfield, Missouri here. Before today, I have never heard of poutine. Thanks to you, I have learned something!

Greetings fabchef...I am a displaced Texan, in exile in the Atlanta, Georgia area.

I have been to Montreal a few times over the last 2 years. The last time was in February of this year...coming up for wok with a company based in Anjou.

Love downtown Montreal, too!

Can't help with the straights...good luck, though.

Spent some time camping in Quebec (Parc Provincial) and a bed and breakfast in Old Quebec City and I have family ties to Quebec. Can't help you with a straight razor as I use a Merkur HD. Vive le Quebec!

Tabernouche! I thought Drummondville was the home of the poutine. At least, it was the first place I saw it some 30 years ago. Ex-Montrealer(South shore).

I'm from montreal but moved to laval 3 years ago. I still go to school, work and everything else in montreal. I just started shaving with a straight one month ago.

Hi gang, nice to see a good mix!!!! POUTINE..should be considered a national dish..hahah it's basically fries with cheese curds and a gravy sauce...a delight for the tummy!! TABARNAC! haha
well if anyone is willing to train this young pup at handling a straight blade, let me know it would be much appreciated..take care

I'm in Vermont just north (just over the river in Winooski) in Burlington. We go to Montreal quite often, one of my favorite cities - I love Vermont, but being from New York City originally I need to go to a city periodically. Can't help you with the straight, just starting it myself. And speaking of Montreal, another trip to Au Pied de Cochon is FAR overdue on my end.

MARTY...well if you come into town you should try our resto..we specialize in home-made pasta's and sauces..it's half take-out counter and half restaurant....it's called pasta casareccia...do a search on the net and you can find our site....let me know when you'll be in town..ciao
