What's new

When it absolutely, positively has to be BBS.

What do you choose? Of the nine razors and variety of blades in my den I reach for my Joris and a Voskhod blade. So far I've tried this combo with DR Harris Lavender and Arlington and RR Third Eye. All three worked with the Joris/voskhod combo.

What's your choice, gents?

LC New or Fatboy on 9... many blades work well for me, though my last BBS with each of these razors has come with a Rainbow blade.
Any of my shave sticks or italian soft soaps would build my lather of choice.

Acqua Di Parma, Semogue 720(or 730? don't remember) HD silvertip, and............GASP!....Gillette Fusion Proglide Vibrating. If guaranteed BBS is the only thing that matters.

For me, it's MWF face lathered with a Shavemac 177 silvertip. A Kanayama 40k strop for my Filarmonica #13, followed up with a cold rinse and Paula's Choice Skin Relief Treatment (now called Redness Relief Treatment).

Option 1: Fat Boy set to 6 (9 for touchups) with Feather blade and any soap mixed with a TOBS cream.

Option 2: Futur set to 2 (6 for touchups) with . . . well, so far I've only tried a Dorco (it's been just two days) plus any soap mixed with a TOBS cream.

If I want BBS and it's a regular day I go with the R41. If I am in a rush then Fatip. If my face is feeling a bit raw (I experiment with a lot of soaps/brushes/blades) I'll dig out the 37c. Astra SP is my go to with all of these, cream/soap doesn't really matter much, I guess it would be TOBS Avocado..the scent is hated by some but that stuff is beyond easy to whip up and is slicker than owl crap and great for the skin...perfect for an easy moisturized BBS.

Good example of YMMV. The slant bars were really rough on me. I had a 37c and a 39c, sold both on BST.

Tabac + Astra SP + Fatboy; or if I really feel like a masochist I'll do the 3 pass straight, with the Fatboy/feather follow-up.

I'd go with my regular daily line up. 2011 R41, Feather, Arko. BBS every time, without fail. These days, I'm even getting pretty quick with it.

I get waxed or lasered. Not sure why I'd ever have to absolutely have to be BBS. Give it ten minutes and it starts growing back.

My BBS happens more easily (and lasts a lot longer) with one of my Gem 1912s. Usually with Arko. I have been getting great results with a straight, but not on 100% of my face.
