What to try next? MWF, DR Harris, GFT

I am looking to feed my SSAD. I am looking to put a refill into my Caswell Massey Wooden bowl. I currently have:

-Tabac
-Honey bee Green Irish Tweed & Ye Ole Barbershop
-Speick Shave Stick
-Mamabear Mysore Sandalwood
-Caswell Massey Almond in wood bowl (soap isn't that great)
-C&E Nomad
-VDH Deluxe
-Col Conk Amber

Got some mighty fine choices there:

I'm a MWF fan and somehow think it's relatively unique.

DR Harris are excellent (Arlington is fresh and a little citrusy, Marlborough smokey/woody). I prefer the Marlborough, but both are nice.

I don't have any GFT soaps but the Sandalwood cologne is pretty nice (though I prefer a drier Sandalwood).

I was torn between MWF and Arlington. Given the need to choose for someone else, I vote Arlington because it smells like something other than soap.

Looking at your list of what you have, you have a great range of quality products already in various price points except ... why dont you shift up one gear & go to the next level and try D R Harris Arlington.

It is here where you should reasonably plateau & hit the ceiling in terms of higher end shave soaps without really needing to break the bank doing so.

My first thought is MWF since I use it with great results so often. However because many do NOT like it, I'd recommend the you get Kent branded version which can be found on eBay ( kentbrushes ) at very reasonable prices...

Next I'd recommend the the GFT soaps. I use the the Rose, Violet & Sandalwood scents and all enjoy regular rotation.

I have MWF, Tabac, DR Harris (Alrington & Marlborough), T&H, Floris (Elite and JF), Pens BB, AOS Sandalwood, Pre de Provence, Provence Sante, QED Sandalwood and 218 shave sticks and a few others. None too shabby. So the glaring gaps would be GFT and maybe SCS and Mama Bears.I've used GFT SC samples (and liked them) but haven't gotten a GFT soap yet. I came close to ordering GFT in Rose, but then ordered one of each of thegroup buy QEDs soaps. It's at the absolute top of my list. How would you say Trumpers soaps compare / differ from other top soaps. Any particular characteristics they're known for?

I just saw GFT Limes mentioned quite often in another thread. Maybe go with that if you like limes.

You can't go wrong with the Arlington. It has quickly become part of the top of my batting order, along with Tabac, L'Occitane CADE (another one you should consider, even though it is not on your list) and AoS unscented.

If you like the Tabac, you are bound to love the Arlington as well. They are like lost cousins who ended up on different sides of the track, but still have some genetic similarities. Think of it as the summer version of Tabac (if you think of Tabac as a winter scent, as some do). Certainly, they are both great.

Plus, as Doc4 points out, Jularlington is just around the corner!!

How would you say Trumpers soaps compare / differ from other top soaps. Any particular characteristics they're known for?

No particular characteristics that I'm aware of. I like them simply because they smell good and give great shaves. Just a personal preference thing really.

I will say though that the Trumper's Sandalwood is the ONLY sandalwood soap I've found that I liked.

As with all things YMMV..

I may have to give that one a try eventually as I love Sandalwood (it's actually QED Sandalwood soap that got me particularly interested in colognes / scents altogether). Have you tried AOS Sandalwood? I think it's an excellent soap and very nice scent.

No, the only AOS soap I have used is the Lemon. Good soap but not to it much scent-wise..
