Couldn't resist the 1919 Bulldog offered here and am wondering about the shave. I have been using a crusty new long comb and it shaves excellent. At first I thought it was a tad aggressive but not at all once I got used to it. I have only read that the Bulldog is on the aggressive side as well but am wondering if more so than the new? I bought it not only for keepsake but for using.

I'm sure it's an old type and my single ring is quite aggressive. Enjoy it though

For sure let us know!! Nothing like shaving with a piece of history.. I love my single ring, but it can bite, that's for sure!!
i think you may find it much more aggressive than the New, in my opinion. i had one and did not get on with it for some odd reason, whereas i really enjoy the Single Ring. Good luck to you.

Thanks for the replies. If it is not any more aggressive than the R41 then we're good to go. If so, then I'll just have to pay attention! The dog will be here tomorrow.

Got the Bulldog and tried it out. Really good shave. Somewhere between my new long and the R41. Love the silver and handle. Pretty sure I'm going to keep this one in the stable. It's cool having something nearly 94 years old.
