What's new

What is the significance of the image on the Tawn lid?

My Tawn AS bottle has a microscope and star on the lid. Does anyone know why?

Perhaps my bottle has the incorrect cap? It looks like something from a "Gilbert Create Your Own AS" edition chemistry set.

I can't answer your question but I want to thank you for bringing back fond memories of my Gilbert Chemistry Sets I'm quite sure that no child today would be allowed anywhere near an alcohol lamp, glass utensils, flammable substances, etc. Any parent conferring such a gift would be liable to presecution and a stiff sentence on conviction. Those were the good old days-if you didn't put your eye out-and I didn't.

Do you mean to tell me that you can no longer buy a Gilbert Chemistry set? How are kids going to learn to build stink bombs to set off in their mother's kitchens?

Oh, that's right, somebody abolished spankins' too.
