I really like the scent of this, but cannot figure out what is it. We all know it is not avocado. What is it?

To me, it smells like the skin of an unripened avocado. Not particularly appealing, IMO. I still love the cream though, it produces an awesome lather.
Having a strong aversion to premature pickles and healthy positive regard for ToBS avocado, I actually quite disagree with cucumber as an element of this cream. Honestly, the best description I ever saw was "sunscreen". Definitely a cologne-ish scent (a la St. James, Eton, etc.), but very green and fresh-smelling.
Mama Bear has a soap called Ocean Rain that smells a lot like it (I had my wife smell them side by side, and while one was stronger smelling, she said they were almost the same). I believe the scent category is "oceanic" which is fresh and clean.

For me it comes down to one word: fresh.
I noticed that it smells very similar to e-shave cucumber cream, but it seems to be a lighter cucumber fragrance, with something else (possibly floral) included in it.
This thread is actually turning me off of the TOBS Avocado. THANK YOU!!! Major mania going on with creams and soaps. Or SCAD and SSAD, if you will.
Anyway, I kinda was looking forward to a creamy avocado cooling scent. Please let me know if I'm mistaken. Or.... wait.... NO.... SCAD stop!!

Great performing cream, but it smells like a citronella candle. There is a hint of cucumber in it, but mostly citronella.
Definitely does not smell like avocados, I also pick up cucumber like everyone else. For me it's not really a deal breaker because I find the scent is not extremely strong and also does not linger for too long either. Importantly I found it lathers extremely well(just like all the other TOBS creams I have used).

Agree on full on Citronella ..... Haven't used it since early 2007 but it has always been a very highly regarded product.
I don't get the citronella. No lemon in there for me.
Green vegetables for sure with a hint of cucumber. Maybe a hint of morning dew (LOL).
If you want a vegetable salad on your face, try Nancy Boy Replenishing Shaving Cream.
By the way, both the TOBS Avocado and Nancy Boy Replenishing are great creams - with very unusual scents.

Cucumber with a floral element. I consider it more fruity than floral, though.
Flowers, fresh, dew.
50/50 cucumber + damp, freshly mown grass.
