Given the razors you have already maybe try a Gillette adjustable or a Progress.

This may be a dumb question, but do adjustable razors still use the same DE blades that my Superspeeds do?

In my opinion, the Gillette Slim Adjustable because the longer handle gives the new shaver better control.
Right. I prefer my Slim to my Fat Boy, but prefer my Futur to either of the Gillettes!

Love both the slim and fatboy but like above the futur gives a closer shave when you get used to the beast!
no experience with fat boy or futur
but i do like my aristocrat (which is basically a gold version of the slim adjustable)
i have to remember to hold it at the tip rather than up the handle or it bites me

I have been using a slim and a fat boy for the past few weeks, but my 34HD just arrived today. I am leaning back to the Merkur line mainly due to have the bar is designed. Who knows, maybe I will change my mind in a week. Isn't that we collect them all? 
I'm the the same and think the Slim is superior to the Fat Boy.
I also had a Mergresss which I hated even though it was a good shaver, so that was sold recently.
Ugh, don't let my Gillettes hear this, but the Futur is the best shaving adjustable to touch my face.

I would like to suggest though, given the other threads you got going on, that you stick with your SS or your HD for until you get that technique down and lather situation figured out. That being said, I like and respect my Futur a lot more now that I have used an HD.

The only adjustable i used so far is a Futur and hes very good

I currently use a Futur and really like it... Even though ive only used it between the 1-1.5 setting's!
