I can't tell if the head and handle on this razor i got in a flea bay lot really go together. I think the head has an H date code but the plating on the head doesn't seem to match the handle.

Looks like a tech with plate loss on the handle. That's not at all uncommon on those handle styles.
Should still be a great shaver, though!
I actually think the copper base metal can be really beautiful when it is exposed. It's harder to keep clean, but keep it dry after each use and I think you should have no problem.

Well i shaved with it this evening and i am underwhelmed, it appears to be a very mild razor and my beard laughs at mild razors.
Your beard won't laugh at an Old Type when it arrives
The Old Type will spank yer beard then give it a guacamole enema before sending it to bed.
