What happened to Mentadent?

Mentadent Crystal Ice toothpaste is no longer being stocked in my area stores. I am having trouble finding any mentadent products of any kind anywhere now. What happened? I was able to pick up some Advanced Whitening refills at Walgreens, but that was all that was there. I like the crystal Ice. Anybody else notice that this item seems to be discontinued? Anybody know where I can get some? I really don't care for crest much, and I hate the idea of having to find something else when I already have something I like. I think I may start scouring Ebay and buying up the remaining stock just to hold off the inevitable. I only have 1 refill left!!!

Both Amazon and Drugstore.com have it. It appears to be a niche product. Also, the fact that it was spun off to Church & Dwight from Unilever in 2003 also indicates it is a product with a small, but devoted base. Amazon has the subscription program with 15% discount (as they do for Schick Injector blades now as well).........

Great info! Are you saying that I could find the same stuff under a different brand name and that the refills will fit my current 10 year old base? I looked it up on amazon.com. The 10.5 oz refills are sold out and dont list the price, but the 5 oz refills cost as much as the 10.5 does on drugstore.com. Could you point me to the subscription program?, i don't see it...
