What Gillette is this? Another yardsale find, I tried it out and it gives a nice smooth shave.

Gonna have to look up the New Gillette to read more about it.
I gave two bucks for it. Plan to prop it up on the early Old Spice mug on top of my medicine cabinet for looks. While it gives a good shave it is inferior to my Superspeed.

I also have this razor in a case. Is it the same thing only with a different handle??

Here's the Shave Wiki page for it (funny, I just went there for a post I'm going to write ). If you click on the third pic (razor sitting on red box), you'll see a beautiful example of that razor.

Here is mine, which I cleaned up a couple weeks ago. Looked similar to yours though not quite as bad when I started. The gold finish was mostly gone, so I went at it with Never Dull after removing the crud with scrubbing bubbles and a toothbrush.

Did NEWs come with "ball end tech" style handles?
I'm only familiar with the OLD style ball ends and the "common straight" bar
That photo before looked like a one piece handle and the ball smaller than the handle diameter like a tech. While the ball end used for olds and news is pressed into a hollow handle and is a larger diameter for the 'ball end' than the handle.

Now I'm not sure. Good points tho. The ball does look big. Maybe a NEW head with a gold Old Type handle?

That cleaned up very nicely. Are you going to replate, or keep it in its "natural" state?
