What does the 3017 reference mean?

I've been seeing references to 3017, but don't know what it means. I've done a search on it, but have only come up with someone's signature.

Thanks,

Dan

When someone says they are going to "3017" something, it means you commit fully to using that product every shave until it's gone.

For example, I'm in the 3017 for Calani Oriental Plum at the moment. No matter how bad I want to shave with proraso soap for a face freeze, I've got to stick to the Calani until it's gone.

Doing this helps one:
a) learn a product inside and out, including if it's deemed "replaceable"
b) use up some stockpile

Thanks for the explanation. I wonder if I should go in for 3017 on my kilo of Cella?!

:lol::lol: I think someone tried it earlier on in the thread and gave up, but you'd be a hero if you made it!

Many B&B'ers have gone "balls to the wall" on Italian almond only to tire of its sweetness.

That's the number of soaps, creams and blades one must aquire to achieve the B&B platinum status.

Hi,

Yeah. It is the old Ludicrous Is Funny thing. The real original calculation was 2017, which isn't funny, but the typo of 3017 in the title conjurs up the image of a huge mountain of soap. So, that makes it tickle the old funny bone ala Monty Python. :)

Don't feel bad, though. It took me a while to find that original thread and so understand the reference as well. I think everyone has to go thru that, along with figuring out several other references used a lot (i.e. Springs1)..... Just a part of the fun around here! :p

Stan (but NOT the Stan everyone is a Wingman for)

The 3017 is the typo. It is funny, because that is the one that stuck.

I read through that entire thread and I believe that the original text was "2017" but a moderator changed it to "3017" as a joke considering the large amount of soaps that the OP had hoarded (collected).
