What's new

What do you do when you're not shaving?

More specifically, I'm not an everyday shave guy, and was wondering for those that don't shave daily, what kind of face routine do you have for the off day? For me, I have a great exfoliator that I use, but that's really it. No moisturizer, no splash, no nothing. I feel there is something I could do to help my skin, but not sure what? Suggestions?

Is your skin dry, or oily, or have other problems when you skip shaving a day? If not I'd just stick to your normal routine minus the shaving. Aftershaves and balms are meant to help sooth the just shaved skin... missing a day or two isn't going to hurt anything unless your face is showing signs I mentioned above.

My everyday face routine is just washing with good exfoliating soap or cleanser and following up with a witch hazel rub with cotton pads. I have to do this or I end up with pomade acne, but I've found that my skin has been more toned and healthy looking since I started.

I used to skip shaving on the weekends when I was using a Fusion cartridge. But not now. Now I want to be clean shaven because the missus thinks it's hot!

I shave 7 days a week, except on very rare occassions, on those rare days it's just a wash in the shower as I do on the days i do shave.
Unless you have a specific skin issue your trying to deal with, I'd stick with that.

I at least try to get cleaned up with some witch hazel and use some triple protect lotion and/or vitamin E cream.

I shave every day but every morning and nights before bed i wash my face whit cold water and i apply a good moisturizing cream.

I don't shave only once per week.

On that day, I use a face scrub in the shower (either Art of Shaving or some Lavender Salt Scrub that I picked up at Trader Joe's, will probably try the CADE bark scrub when the aos is gone)

If it's cold and dry out, I'll put on an aftershave balm. If not, usually just a witch hazel splash and then some cologne.

Night before, I shave a two day growth, I always use Cade Youth concentrate with a layer of pure shea butter on top. The pure shea butter is heavy but by morning it's really absorbed in well, and I get a great shave.

Usually have one day on one day off from shaving. We don't have a lot of clients in the office so we can get away with 1 days growth.

On the off days I use a nivea moisturizer that I got in a shave pack last Christmas. That's it
