What brush are you using for face lathering..?

Hi everyone....

Trying face lathering ... I have multiple Simpsons brushes to choose from....

Paths am I used a duke 3 in pure badger and a almost stick of arko ( stick is just under 1/2 inch tall )

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I face lather all the time. The only two brushes I have right now are an Omega boar and a Tweezerman badger. Both work equally well.

I use an omega pure badger to face lather. awaiting my chubby boar to be delivered for soaps. I use (usually) arko, 1.5 sticks mashed into a small tupperware bowl doused in diluted noxema or essential oils and then maybe some menthol crystals I get in a bag. voila!
I face lather to save time and like the feel on my face, it ensures I get lather everywhere. Sometimes use proraso sandalwoood cream in a tube or razorcok la famiglia soaps.

My favorite brush to face lather with is definitely a TGN Finest fan shape. It feels soft against the face and yet takes apart soap without any issues.

I use my Simpson Berkeley, Simpson Colonel, Grosvenor LE and B&B Essential to face lather, almost always soaps now days. The, Berkeley and Grosvenor are my favorites though the other two work well, too. Basically I always face lather and rotate through all the brushes. Did use my C&E BBB but retired it; rather floppy but good with creams.

I face lather in travel mode only, so a synthetic brush, though the Bestshave horse hair works too. Best luck has been with an Omega Sintex 90018. Though a tad scritchy, it splays nicely and is easier to get the lather mix right. I've also tried my Synthetic 23mm from TGN, but it's a dense knot, doesn't splay well, and the lather tends to gravitate to the base of the knot, instead of mixing with water added to the tips.

I still prefer bowl lathering, but the prep from soaking my face 28-30 minutes in a swimming pool during workout offsets the nits I have to pick about face lathering.

I am using a cheap Sabi brush, my first brush I got last year in January when i started wetshaving. It is not a crazy good brush, but it does the trick and face lathers with no issues. I do not really understand what characteristics of a brush might make it a poor candidate for face lathering. For those with multiple brushes, any thoughts on that?

Simpsons is super overrated. Get a good solid boar brush, semouge 1305, omega 49 pro, jaguar 1071 off amazon. Wayyyyy better face latherer. Imo

Unlike what some people may argue on these boards, you can face lather with any brush. I face lather most of the time and all my brushes work great. It just depends on what you prefer most. Good luck.

I face lather with all of my brushes, be they badger or boar, except for the Polo 10. I don't have enough face.

Polling will get you a range of results even among face latherers. Providing more details on your preferences and what you're specifically looking for will get you more useful results. There's a thread on asking for brush advice that applies to your question just as much as it does to newbies.

Otherwise you'll just get random responses from people with varying preferences which may or may not be relevant to you.

So big, it could almost be a paintbrush.
