I use an IP.
I tried a Red IP first but felt some drag so I changed to a Walgreen's generic DE blade and Shave Secret under Tabac lather and had a superb shave.
That is the only razor that i like a merkur in

The middle of the road one work the best for me in the NEW
I put a NOS wilkes sword in one and hated the razor at first.
My long tooth versions are also different than my short tooth one. I like a sharper blade like an Astra in the short tooth
