What a difference a blade makes...

Switched to a Lord Super Stainless today after using Wilkinson Classics for my entire short DE shaving career. Wow! What a difference! Much less irritation and a closer, better shave in every way. The Lord blade is really good and the whole experience makes me real curious about how good this can get with other blades. Time to get a sample pack I guess, but first I will go for the Lords for a while. Really like´em. Any recommendations? Everyone keeps talking about the Feathers, the Derbys and the Personnas. Wich ones are the best?

I wish I knew! I'm still trying out blades in my sampler pack. The jury is still out for me on Feathers. I want to like them but I seem to get more weepers with them. Derbys have been okay for me. I really have enjoyed Gillette 7 O'clocks. Astras seem to give a good shave. So, I just keep making my way through my sampler pack and trying to make mental notes about which ones I'm enjoying the most! Good luck!

The Gillette 7's are one of my favorites... I tried my first Lord today, and was really impressed with it as well! Rounding out my top 3 are the Shark Super Chromes. I'd say definately try a sampler pack. Most everyone's different, and you will be sure to find the best blade for you!

i like the gillette yellow 7's. i REALLY like that they're very consistent.

gave up on derbys because i had great ones and lousy ones.

currently, i like astras but nothing equals swedes. not feathers. not super iridiums. not gillette 7 o'clocks.

i found 'em late too, once they had disappeared.

I would suggest that you stick with your Lord blades for a little while and see if your results improve as your technique develops. A sampler pack of blades is a great idea and gives you the opportunity to try many different types.

You'll definitely want to get a sampler pack, the bigger the better. That having been said, I personally like Red Pack Personnas and Gillette 7 o'clock Greens (the Russian ones) equally as well, followed by Crystals and Astra Superior Platinums (which are also neck and neck, so to speak), with Derbys bringing up the rear just slightly. In a pinch I can be happy with WalMart Personnas in my Slim...

I tested the Lord blades after trying Feathers and Astra. I tossed the Lord blades after only one shave.

Yes, I think it's time for you to try others.
