Wet Pack/Dopp Kit

Hey fellow B&Bers, I'm looking for something to put my shaving goods in when I travel and I want some advice! I want something that's leather, good looking, compact and most importantly last FOREVER. I like the roll up style & the "wetpack" style. I'm not sure what design I am going to get but I like the look of these two.... What do you think? :001_smile

I recently picked up Col Littleton's shave kit. It has been discussed here before a few times. Pricey but it should last a while since it's leather and canvas.

Just seen the small travel pack by Saddleback Leather Co. Looks good but maybe a bit too large? Anybody have any experience with them?

I've been having a tough time not THIS picking one up:

Also, if you must have the military style Dopp, check out www.qedusa.com for theirs, i think it's the best price/value/quality.

Pick it up, you know you want to! The QED one is gorgeous :biggrin1: christmas soon aswell.....

The small Travel Case from Saddleback is 9" x 5" x 4.5". That is about right for a dopp kit. If you are looking for something that will truly last forever, look no farther. I have both the large briefcase and notepad holder. I could not be happier with them. There are no zippers or snaps to fail, only a belt-like buckle. The leather is extremely thick and strong. The stitching, riveting, and other hardware is superb. As it wears and ages, the leather only looks better. The only complaint (and it's minor) is that the briefcase is really heavy, especially when filled with files, a laptop, a camera, small humidor, etc ...

Unless you are fully sold on a wet roll, the SBL option may be the best. True, it's not the least expensive. With Saddleback products, I firmly believe it is a case of "you get what you pay for." The 100-year warranty speaks for itself.

Edit to add: My next SBL purchase will be a small Travel Case.

Birthday up soon, that saddleback leather travel case looks like it will be the one that's bought!

Now the decision is "what color?" My briefcase is Carbon Black, but only because I strap it to the luggage rack of my Harley. If it hadn't been for that consideration, I probably would have chosen the Chestnut or Dark Tobacco Brown.

All colours are beautiful, theres something classy and understated about the carbon black....but the chestnut and the brown are elegant and gorgeous..... thanks. Now I'm unsure again!
