What's new

Wee Scot Incoming.

I've been looking at various brushes on the net lately and had the opportunity to test out a few brushes a friend had.
Most were larger than I expected. They fit my hand fine but once they were loaded up they felt a lot bigger

The brush that I liked the most was a Simpson CH1. Soft, somewhat stuff, easy to work in a bowl or in my hand.
The brushes with a larger, taller knot seemed a little floppy, but also seemed quicker to work up a lather. Maybe there was just more soap and larger mounds of lather involved...

Not being completely sold on the CH1 I hedged my bets and pulled the trigger on the smallest brush I could find, the Wee Scot. :thumbup1: I'm hoping it will be a home run, but if it ends up being more work than expected for a daily driver I'll throw it in the travel bag and move up a size.

The Simpson name & performance seems good across the board, and for $40 no one will get hurt too bad.
A memorable first brush either way.

The new brush is scheduled to land on Saturday & I can't wait for it to roll in!

First time I opened up the Wee Scot box I had a little chuckle when I saw how small it is. It almost looked a toy, but in reality it is an amazing lather generating tool. It works great with shave sticks and face lathering creams. Unfortunately I wasn't too happy with the small handle and sold it on the B/S/T. It's probably the only sale that I regret, I might have to reacquire this brush one day.

I have a wee scot and the CH1 in all Best, 3-Band super, and 2-band super! You'll love the wee! It's a great little brush. I still have to "reload" sometimes and pretty much use it for travel, but it's always enjoyable! I absolutely love my Chubbies, and I won't be surprised when your wee scot leads to a chubby sometime down the road!

The Wee Scot quickly became my go-to brush for several months when I first got it about 3 years ago. It holds its own against its larger brethren, and it proved itself worthy with every soap and cream I tried it on.

So many users think the Wee Scot is just another travel brush. But its much, much more than that. It works just fine as your home-base brush as well.

That little bastard is worth every penny u spend on it... It's like an ugly prostitute... Works twice as hard for you... Sorry for the crassness... A bit sleepy

Wee Scot is a great little brush, makes enough lather for 3 passes.

I don't have the famous Wee Scot but only this little buddy :
13120B White horse "The tiny Spanish pony" from one of our Vendors

For the size (just a 18mm knot / 45 mm loft) and price ($14 & change) this is an amazing performer. Easily enough lather for 3 passes, I couldn't believe it. I brought it purely as a travel brush but it might very well end up in my regular rotation.

They all laughed...

I think the Wee Scot is a fantastic brush indeed.
No problem to use it as a every day brush, in fact I now have a couple of those smaller brushes.

i once had a Wee Scot and really enjoyed it for quite awhile. the knot itself was great, but in the end, i just wished it had a bigger handle. based on that assessment (ie. knot size good, handle size bad) i purchased a Special in best badger, and am really happy with it. the knot is a bit bigger and works just as well, if not better, and the handle is much larger which works great. congrats on the acquisition, i think you will enjoy it.

I've got one and it's just a touch too small for my taste. The lather tends to build down onto the handle and my fingers. That's face lathering, generally off a stick, when I do use it.

I keep it in a stripped down Dopp case for quick, light trips.

I may be in the minority but I strongly disliked mine. Good luck with it though I'm sure you will love it, many do!!!

My brush rolled in yesterday and a software order I placed through ItalianBarber.com came in today So...
I had a chance to try this little brush out today.

As many have noted, the handle is small and it's tough not to get lather on your hand, which is not an issue for me.
The RazoRock and Cella soaps I tried lathered up with minimal effort, both in a bowl and on my face.
No irritation or scritch, tons of lather, good control...

Feeling great about this purchase!

Little league size, big league job.
