Weber handles

I tried a Weber once like a year ago and didn't like it because the attachment of the handle to the head was too loose - half a turn and it was already off. Now they say their handles fit to Muhle/EJ/Mekur heads. Does that mean they changed the construction of the handles on their razors?

I suppose you already asked Weber and they didn't reply.
I have Muhle/EJ/Merkur/Feather razors and their handles are interchangeable. Feather handle has the best thread fit and the rest are excellent. I use iKon Bulldog handle most of the time and the thread fit is very good with all mentioned razors.
I briefly owned a Weber DLC and (while I did not check the fit with other heads) the thread fit was ridiculous. I cannot say the handle was off in half a turn, it was almost off in a turn or so. The threads cannot last too long with this poor fit.
There will be some "car salesmen" telling you the poor fit is actually a feature and designed that way. To me is just a poor thread fit, and not acceptable.
So, I do not know the answer to your question, but can tell you from own experience that the razor I bought in August 2012 had very loose thread fit.

I purchased the Weber DLC with bulldog handle in May 2012 and have become an instant fan in which I also own an ARC with bulldog handle and recently purchased the Weber Wave handle. All my Weber handles fit my EJ89L, FaTip, R41 great and snug with no problems. Weber handles are excellent with the deep knurling and perfect weight.
