WCS Shave stick tubes

How does one put soap into those twist ups that WCS sells? Do you take sticks that come foil wrapped and drill a hole and install? or is this only for puck soaps? I'm fairly new and lost on these.

I softened a Palmolive stick and pressed it in one of the small ones.

Lesson learned: don't melt soap with a microwave. It makes a mess.

Especially a tallow-based soap. Glycerin is ok to melt, but melting a tallow soap will ruin it. Instead, grate it then take the shavings and push them into the tube.

The sticks I have, that will fit in there just pushed right in. If the stick is quite a bit smaller in diameter than the tube (the Valobra stick), you need to be careful that you apply pressure evenly or the middle stick will come out the side. It's fairly easy.

Yep, most sticks will just "push" in.

Here are two of mine with Speick and Arko sticks inserted.

Agree with prior posts. I either just push in, cut into pieces or mill. I might mill Palmolive. Almost everything else is soft enough to push in whole or in pieces.

I notice that I have both the twist-ups and non-twists.

I am getting ready to grate my palmolive and valbora.

But I would prefer to use the non-twists for those soaps; for me its easier to load the non-twists with those soaps.

I know WCS carries the twist-ups, but I am having a hard time finding push-ups.

Any help from you kind gentlemen will be greatly appreciated!

I have three of those twist-ups. Palmolive and Arko sticks can be pressed in. I "cheated' by using a fine screwdriver and made a pilot hole through the center. Some soaps can be melted and pored. Harder soaps can me either grated or cut into mini-disks and pressed in.
